Dr Stephanie Diezmann

Screening Lead

Stephanie completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Humboldt University Berlin and received a PhD in Genetics from Duke University. Following her doctoral studies, she trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, where she delved into understanding the chaperone network in a human fungal pathogen and identifying its regulatory mechanisms. Before joining Bactobio, Stephanie was a senior lecturer at the University of Bristol, where her work focused on fungal infections in humans. Stephanie’s expertise spans molecular biology, microbiology, fungal genetics, and project management.


At Bactobio, she leads the screening team that aims to identify antimicrobial compounds.


Outside of her professional pursuits, Stephanie enjoys hiking, photography, and culinary experiences.
